Just one rules clarification, does the piece need to be painted or simply primed to specifically show the sculpting itself?

Would safely assume that a paint job is not required as part of the prize is 10 casts of your mini' :-)

PS - a great idea you have there! Can't wait to see it sculpted.

Kind of figured, just thought I would ask anyways. And thanks, it should be an interesting build, now let us see if I can get it done in time between work and life...

EliaG: no, it's perfectly alright.

Self: what Moonmin said.  Also, painting would arguably hide the sculpting. :)

And welcome to both of you!

EliaG: Katy Perry nude on a cotton candy cloud gets my vote.

Self: I hope you find the time as it's an awesome concept! Good luck!

Hmmm... ok, I think I know what I'd like to try for this. Must admit I'm leaning more towards 'amusing' as opposed to 'serious' in subject matter.

Now let's see if I can actually make the time for this (an achievement in itself, that will almost certainly require at least some minor tweeks in the substance of space-time)...

I might give it a try. Assuming I can find time. Got some crazy busy puppet making and sculpting bits and pieces going on right now.

Also, I'm wondering if I should've put a size range restriction in the comp rules.  On one hand I never specified, and it'd be unfair to whack new rules on people after the fact.  But on the other hand: that organ thing's 'uge!  If the finished article places in the top three, it makes me sweat to think how it'll be cast.

you said it should be 28 mm-ish i think that should be self evident as the the size max on the organ only the operator should be judged and garunteed but tf may choose to do the whole thing if he wishes.  i think this is fair not only to every sculptor but also to tf for work and time involved (not to mention materials, though the new resin is supposed to pretty good on that

Do not worry, I work in a metal casting facility as a model maker, I know how to break it down into pieces for casting... Plus that way it can be posable!  Things like this allow me to be creative and have more fun with what I am making.

Well okay.  Though I was thinking of my pocket too, if it wins a place. :)

This is the 'other hand' - I don't want to squelch that.  Gimme a while to think.

Was wondering where the price fund was coming from. Very generous of you! I hope there's some incentive in there for yourself (other than, of course, the warm fuzzy feeling of nourishing the sculpting talent of tomorrow, lol) ;-)

If I place I would be very willing to waive the money portion of the prize for the opportunity to have the model produced.

The rules seem pretty clear that models are supposed to be around 30mm. My vote doesn't count for anything, but if it did, it would be on the side of "100mm tall robots aren't around 30mm tall".

"How did you know you weren't really going crazy?"
"The voices in my head kept calling me Bruce."
"Yeah, and?"
"In my head, that's not what I call myself."
