February '12 Sculptalong - Carnies and Clowns
« on: February 01, 2012, 11:24:53 PM GMT GMT »
The sculptalong's back after a bit of a break, and the theme 28mm carnival freaks and performers.  Ink the Troll's original description:

Quote
- feakshow/ carnival: From bearded damsells in distress to fire-eaters with heartburn to three armed radiation mutants in frilly dresses-  some minis might even end up being suitable pulpy retro 'men in rubber suits monsters' as well.

This sculptalong will run 'til February 29th, and no further!  You may need to start something else at the beginning of March.  In the meantime, February's results will be gathered together in a poll, and you can all vote on who wins bragging rights.

Yeah I had to vote for Ink's idea! I'm looking forward to trying out some ideas.

I'm new to the sculptalong - where should I post any WIP stuff I have? Miniature Sculpting/Works in Progress or is there a specific place in the forum?

You can stick it in WIP, though put up a link to the topic in this thread so everything can be more easily found and gathered together. :)

Excellent! I've decided on my theme, made some sketches and fleshed out my armature - I'd better get it all photographed so I can post!

I'll try to. But atm I've got enough to do with the silly things I'm working on regarding the Frothers games (and real live).

I started one!  Hopefully it's going to be a useful education in speed-sculpting.

Only ever got to smearing some fimo over a pre-made armature/ dolly. Should at least remember to take a wip pic tomorrow- must remember to take my camera back home, need it at my grandma's place as the doctor keeps wanting pics of my grandma's bedsore (hope she get's her new mattress and padding for her bedrails soon, fighting for them since over a month now).

Cheers Andrew :-) In terms of finished sculpts he's perhaps ~ #17. In terms of started numbers it would be something much more shameful... if I'm brutally honest it's taken me a long time to progress considering how long I've been at this for!
