Justin's entry...

Started!

Here's my armature pic, I'll post and wips in this thread. Decided to go with something a bit out of left field, in the words of the great Rolf Harris - Can you tell what it is yet?

Nope, I glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it, snapped it of posing it, re glued it..... Gave up threw it across the room, recovered it and stuck the arms in place with a big blob of brown!

I tried to solder armatures, to no avail (other than 2 nice burns). Not sure if it's my wire that's not solder friendly. I've got my eye on ordering some nickel plated wire in the future which is supposed to be solder freindly.

Tape your aramature down with masking tape, then solder. If you sand the wire a bit first it will be fine and works on any wire I've ever tried. I now use ebob armatures anyway as they are so much faster but used this for several old armatures.  ;)

Yep, "clean wire" is essential, scrape it with the edge of a blade or sand paper.... I think you can get
solder with a resin flux core too............ am still learning soldering myself!!

I sculpt weird stuff

Sadly, it's looking like i won't get this finished by deadline  :(
Too many tiny scales and too little sculpting time!

I'm deciding wether or not to pop snakey on hold and try to whip up something less ambitious in a month, I've been toying with the idea of a clock work FF team for a while...

Argh.  Trying to have another look at it, but the pic's not loading.

Sorry though, Just.  I hope you do manage to get something whipped up, snakey or no.
