October 2010 Sculptalong - 28mm Classic Monsters
« on: October 02, 2010, 12:32:02 AM BST GMT »
This is a Halloween theme for October.  Specifically, iconic monsters and creatures of legend, literature, and cinema; of a gothic, pulp, or pop culture persuasion.  Dracula, Frankenstein, the wolfman, and more.  There are a lot of choices and a lot of different interpretations to follow, though your own personal take is also encouraged.

Scale is 28mm, which as usual takes into account 28-32mm.  Please post links to WIP and finished topics, and feel free to post highlight pics in this thread.

And just to clarify, we're back to one month for this one.

I started a werewolf some time ago for a FoD challenge (or maybe it was some other forum...) but never got far or had time to finish it.

So i could put it back on a cork and have a go.   BUT, i'm on holiday most of this month so i don't see it happening.

Shame.  I reckon it would be pretty good, finished.

Anyone got any ideas yet?

Classic horror was never really part of my upbringing, so admittedly, nothing's really leaping to mind inspiration-wise for this one.

Can anyone better-versed in the genre offer some suggestions?
"How did you know you weren't really going crazy?"
"The voices in my head kept calling me Bruce."
"Yeah, and?"
"In my head, that's not what I call myself."

Universal did a lot of classic monster movies: wikipedia
There's The Island of Dr. Moreau, where a scientist creates beastmen.

I've got a half finished anubis that's about 50mm high. Guess that won't do though.

I am about 2 years but that wont stop me :) i am planning on doing every sculptalong and i will start with classic monsters and monster hunters for monster hunter i will do the most famous of them all Van Helsing, and i cant decide if i am going to make a count Dracula to go with him or Quasimodo because Quasimodo is awesome what do you think?
