I have just put together a blog post about scale, size and proportion, mainly relating to figure sculpting.

http://pulp-zen.blogspot.com/2011/04/figure-sculpting-scale-size-and.html

Please let me know what you think!

btw, Yes there is something of a commercial motive at the end, but I think the info is genuinely useful...

Ta IM.  Added the blog to the list; though don't forget you can announce individual blog posts you think might be of interest, in their own topics. ;)

Nice intro post to scale and size, though. :)  I think I might have to sticky that one in the guides and references board, at some point.

That.

The "fruit of the sea" piece is about as close as anything I have seen in this hobby to becoming 'real art'.

I have changed the URL for my blog, also will now focus exclusively on sculpting, model making and wargaming (the other aspects of my old blog are now on a separate blog.

The new site is at:-

http://ironmammoth.blogspot.com/

The scale and proportion post can now be found here:-

There will be more sculpting articles over the next few months...

Nice article on the scale. I sort of only figured out today that I was making 28mm scale figures in 1:64 rather than 1:72 (which is more like 25mm FtH). On that note, a hand in 1:64 is approximately 3mm. In 1:72 it's 2.2 mm.
